Lowcountry Bordello (Liz Talbot Series, #4) by Susan M. Boyer
The Charleston streets are dressed for the holidays in sophisticated Southern style: topiaries adorned with red ribbons, garland entwined with white lights, and poinsettias potted in gold planters. The high class bordello in a stately historic home is certainly no exception. When Private Investigator Liz Talbot’s dear friend Olivia swears she saw a dead body in the parlor of this bordello, one Olivia accidentally co-owns, Liz promptly comes to her aid.
With her wedding back home on Stella Maris less than a week away, Liz must juggle one elderly madam, two ex and future in-laws, three ghosts in the bordello, four giddy bridesmaids, five lovely courtesans, six suspicious patrons…and a partridge in a pear tree as she tries to keep her bridesmaid out of jail and live to walk down the aisle.

This was my first introduction to Susan My. Boyer, and I can tell you I have already added the first three books in this series to add to my Kindle! Lowcountry Bordello is the fourth book in the Liz Talbot Mystery series by Susan M. Boyer. While each novel is a stand alone with a little recap, you can really start anywhere in the series and not be lost. Lowcountry Bordello is a wonderful mystery set in Charleston, South Carolina and the barrier island area. As much as I appreciated the mystery of the book and the wonderful clues given and the continued surprises that happened one after another, I felt the book had sort of a hectic, crazed energy to it. It seemed that there was a lot shoved into a two-day period in the book and I feel that if it would have even be given another day or two in the plot line it would have lessened that crazed pace. But even with the ultra fast-paced story line it was a fun read and I laughed a lot. I enjoyed reading this book and trying to solve the mystery at the same time. I recommend the book for anyone who likes a funny cozy mystery with a strong female lead.
Again, this is the fourth book in this series, but can be read as a standalone book. However, you will want to go back and read the first three as well!Overall, Lowcountry Bordello was a fun read with good writing enhanced by an enjoyable story line and fun characters!
I received an ARC of this book, from NetGalley, in exchange for my honest review.
